Notes from Brooke
We are living in strange times and now more than ever the importance of our health and wellbeing is at the fore of people’s minds and if it isn’t it should be. Since I had children my reason for exercising and eating a balanced and nutritious diet has been to hopefully improve my chances of staying fit, active, and able for longer than I might otherwise.
My business strapline is Train Smart, Eat Well, Feel Better…..In an age when we all have access to fitness trackers, smart watches, and thousands of apps it is easy to be caught up in the technology and forget about how we actually feel and how well we are performing for whatever it may be – life, a sporting endeavour, a one-off physical feat. Whilst high-level sport has proven the benefits of constant monitoring most of us are not heading or international sporting stardom and would be well served to spend a little more time listening to our bodies.
Everyone is different and often our intentions for the day ahead change dependent on timing. We live in a world where until recent world events took over, there has been increasing pressure to ‘do’ more. It has filtered through to every area of our lives from work, to family life, to leisure time, to travel.
In brief, the glutes provide stability for the lower limbs and the trunk. They are critical in maintaining hip and pelvic stability and as such weak glutes can result in postural issues and more importantly pain particularly in the lower back, knees, and hips.
