About
My passion for fitness came when I discovered a sport I loved. As a child my parents exposed me to many different sports and encouraged me to be active. However it wasnt until my late teens that I found the sport I was to become passionate about and which gave me a purpose to train. Through rowing I learnt how to push my body to extremes and with that understand how amazingly capable it can be. I was fortunate to have an amazing coach who showed me that with consistency and hard work great things are possible. His guidance ultimately led me to pursue a career as a personal trainer, after a 16 year stint in the commercial world as a sales & marketing manager. Through training and sport I have developed an awareness and fascination with what my body can do and how best I can support it. I am passionate about passing that knowledge and the confidence and strength that comes with it onto my clients. I have worked as a personal trainer for the past 6 years and am privileged to have worked with some amazing people striving to be the best version of themselves for the life they want to lead.
WORKING TOGETHER
How I work
I believe in the benefits of cross training using a variety of techniques, equipment and methods to maximize gains and prevent boredom. Strength training is essential for training longevity and is a fundamental part of sessions in addition to cardio and plyometric movements. I have a special interest in the effect of nutrition and lifestyle factors on health and wellness and strongly adhere to the view that the best way to facilitate long term sustainable change is through imparting knowledge to my clients. With a background in competitive sport I follow the latest scientific research and am open to adapting new ideas into my coaching for the benefit of my clients.
STRENGTH TRAINING
Strength Training is essential to long term health. As muscle mass is a casualty of the aging process everyone can reap the benefits of a targeted strength training programme. I use dumbells, kettlebells, bodyweight and TRX
(suspension straps) to make the greatest gains and enable as many of my clients as possible to access this type of exercise.
CARDIO FITNESS
Cardiovascular fitness is important to reduce risk of heart attack, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and some types of cancer, so I include HIIT training, circuit style workouts and interval sessions to optimize benefits for clients.
LIFESTYLE TRAINING
As lifestyle factors can prevent optimum physical results sought through training I offer guidance alongside exercise to encourage my clients to be more mindful and aware of all aspects of their lives that could negatively impact on their wellbeing. This may include techniques to enhance adherence to an exercise plan, support with nutrition - how to best fuel the body to optimize performance, (particularly important for women), techniques to alleviate anxiety and mechanisms to encourage efficient use of time to attain greatest results.
TRX
Certified TRX instructor, 1:1 Personal Training and various studio classes in Tunbridge Wells.
Ethos
Train Smart, Eat Well, Perform Better. The body needs to be strong, fit and nourished to perform at its best, whether for a specific sport or simply to live the best life possible for the longest time. With a sporting background myself I use proven methods of training with a scientific basis to ensure real and long lasting benefits. There are no quick fixes or magic formulas. Hard work and consistency are key. I try to impart the best of my knowledge so my clients enjoy learning how to get the most from their bodies for the life they want to live.

“I started training with Brooke 8 weeks after the birth of my third child. As a mum of 3 herself and fully qualified in pre and post natal training, Brooke is the ideal person to fully understand my goals and needs. She is enthusiastic and encouraging, works me hard and pushes me further than I would ever train on my own. She makes each session interesting by mixing up the training schedule and incorporating various types of training...I never get bored like I have in the past using a gym. Brooke has been brilliant advising on nutrition and suggesting recipes and changes to diet. I couldnt recommend Brooke highly enough.”
